In 2020, TSI, an international leader in the trauma-informed care (TIC) movement, made a strategic decision to offer our training and consultation services in the IDD sector. In 2021, we launched the first-of-its-kind [Pilot TIC Learning Collaborative for IDD organizations](https://blog.traumaticstressinstitute.com/hubfs/IDD/Prospectus%20-%20Pilot%20Learning%20Collaborative%20for%20IDD%20Orgs%20Generic.pdf), a 16-month initiative involving [four IDD agencies across the US](https://blog.traumaticstressinstitute.com/blog/pilot-idd-learning-collaborative-formed). As our work grows in this sector, TSI needs experienced, licensed IDD professionals to train, coach, and spread the word about our work. Risking Connection is our foundational trauma training that is a core component of TSI’s [Whole Systems Change Model to TIC](https://traumaticstressinstitute.org/services/whole-system-transformation-to-trauma-informed-care-tic/). TSI’s mission is to foster the transformation of organizations and systems to trauma-informed care through the delivery of whole-system consultation, professional training, and research. We currently support [83 client agencies and service systems](https://traumaticstressinstitute.org/services/whole-system-transformation-to-trauma-informed-care-tic/agencies-using-rc-as-training-model/) in 22 US states, 2 Canadian provinces, and Jamaica in their journey to TIC culture change. A clinical psychologist, he is a primary architect of TSI’s internationally-recognized whole-system change process to trauma-informed care. He is a co-creator, with Dr. Courtney Baker, of the Attitudes Related to Trauma-Informed Care (ARTIC) Scale, one of the first psychometric measures of TIC. He trains professionals nationally on psychological trauma and trauma-informed care. In addition to being a psychologist, he is a long time sexuality educator/trainer and author of Streetwise to Sex-Wise: Sexuality Education for High Risk Youth, a sexuality education curricula used internationally by agencies and schools serving high-risk youth.
