From Interest to Implementation: New Tools for Getting Started with the ARTIC Scale

October 7, 2026 / by Tasha Reece, M.S.

The ARTIC® Scale is a psychometrically valid measure of professional and para-professional attitudes toward trauma-informed care, with more than half a million administrations around the world. Organizations often come to the ARTIC with an important first question: Where do we start? Whether an organization is exploring trauma-informed care, planning an evaluation, or looking for a way to understand changes in staff attitudes over time, choosing the right ARTIC product and developing a strong data collection plan can feel like a lot to navigate. The new Client Readiness Assessment (CRA) is designed to make that process easier.

The CRA provides a simple starting point for organizations interested in using the ARTIC. Through a brief series of questions, clients can identify which ARTIC product may best fit their goals, consider whether they have the resources and capacity needed for successful implementation, and recognize areas where additional support may be helpful. The goal is to create a clear path from interest to action.

  1. Complete the Client Readiness Assessment — Identify your goals, ARTIC needs, organizational capacity, and areas where additional support may be helpful.
  2. Request a Consultation — Meet with the ARTIC Research Coordinator to discuss your assessment results, goals, and questions.
  3. Complete a Pricing Estimate — Receive an estimate based on the ARTIC product and scope of your anticipated project.

Trauma-informed change takes intention, resources, and thoughtful implementation, and organizations may begin that journey from very different places. The Client Readiness Assessment helps identify those starting points so we can connect clients with the ARTIC product and the level of support that is in alignment with their needs and goals.
