IDD Organizations Selected for TIC Learning Collaborative

July 9, 2021 / by Steve Brown, PsyD

The Traumatic Stress Institute (TSI) is excited to announce the four agencies participating in the first-of-its-kind Pilot Trauma-Informed Care Learning Collaborative for Organizations Serving Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

The Pilot Learning Collaborative is a 16-month initiative where organizations work intensively together to implement TSI’s Whole-System Change Model with the goal of transforming their organizational cultures to ones that are trauma-informed.

After a national marketing campaign to spread the word, applications from four organizations were accepted to participate. These four represent a wide spectrum of organizations in the IDD sector with respect to organization size, types of services offered, populations served, and experience in implementing trauma-informed care.

The four agencies are:

Ariel Clinical Services (based in Grand Junction, Colorado with services in the Western Slope and Front Range)

Adelbrook, Inc. Behavioral and Developmental Services (based in Cromwell, Connecticut with service across Connecticut)

People Inc (based in Williamsville, New York with services in Western New York and the Greater Rochester Region)

Campagna Academy (based in Schererville, Indiana)

A formal research study of the Learning Collaborative is being conducted by Dr. John Keesler of Indiana University School of Social Work. Dr. Keesler is joined on the Learning Collaborative Faculty Expert Team by Steve Brown, Psy.D., Brenda Bryant, LCSW, and Karyn Harvey, Ph.D.

We look forward to working with these four agencies. Do you think your IDD organization may be interested in future Trauma-Informed Care Learning Collaboratives?Contact Us
