Data driven decision making is an important part of implementing trauma informed care and achieving desired outcomes. What are the options for organizations that don’t have the capacity to conduct a full program evaluation on their own? The Traumatic Stress Institute (TSI) created the Online ARTIC dashboard and an admin resource hub to address that very issue.
In response to limited research in the field of trauma-informed care, the Traumatic Stress Institute (TSI), in partnership with Dr. Courtney Baker of Tulane University, created the ARTIC (Attitudes Related to Trauma-Informed Care) Scale, a measurement tool that assesses staff attitudes towards trauma-informed care (TIC). The ARTIC scale was first released in 2015 as a paper-and-pencil measure, and is still the most widely-used, valid measure of TIC globally. Two peer-reviewed studies are available, demonstrating the psychometric validity of the ARTIC Scale, and the California Evidence-Based Clearinghouse (CEBC) has given the ARTIC an “A-Psychometrics Well-Demonstrated” rating.
After years of supporting researchers and students utilizing the ARTIC scale in paper & pencil format, TSI realized a need expressed by organizations around the world for expert guidance and logistical support while navigating the (sometimes huge) requirements of the program evaluation process.
In 2019, the Traumatic Stress Institute launched the Online ARTIC platform to automate and streamline the administration of the ARTIC scale. Over 200 organizations within a wide range of systems have adopted the use of Online ARTIC to guide their three-year long study process. An Online ARTIC study purchase includes multiple hours of onboarding consultation, an organizational dashboard to track response rates and review aggregated data, system-focused recommendations, confidential individual dashboards and staff-focused resources. Our Online ARTIC team is committed to supporting you with onboarding, technical support and excellent customer service to make your study process with Online ARTIC a seamless and cost-effective solution for closing your system’s research-to-practice gap.
While supporting Online ARTIC clients over the last four years, we have built a library of resources to help administrators get the most out of their investment in Online ARTIC. We recently developed an online resource hub called the “OA Admin Support Site” to make the program evaluation process even easier.
The OA Admin Support Site offers a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to support Online ARTIC and Whole-System Change administrators through the various phases of their program evaluation. The purpose of this resource is to serve as an informed, adaptive supplement to your communication and work with the Online ARTIC Support team. Some resources included on the support site include:
